purposes are to celebrate fine wines of the East Willamette Valley
Wine Region, to highlight Silverton's role as touring hub of that
region, and to promote Downtown Silverton as the region's top
restaurant and shopping locale.
The Festival will follow a "wine
walk" format - with venues spread throughout the Downtown area.
Eleven local wineries will offer
tastings and wines by the glass. A variety of tapas-style food
accompaniments will be available.
Twenty live jazz acts will perform
in a dozen intimate venues. They will range from soloists to sextets,
include a profusion of jazz styles, and manifest a level of talent
rarely witnessed in towns of this size – incorporating several
nationally recognized players.
Educational programs on wine
appreciation and on jazz appreciation will also be presented.
